Bible Truth Restored

If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.           1 Peter 4:11

KENYA BIBLE TEACHING

I travelled with my son Daniel to Kenya for the last 2 weeks. We were hosted by a Brother and sister Joshua and Rosemary, and their son Amos and his wife Ramla, who have been faithful in the truth for many years. While there we travelled to meet a number of small churches in the rural villages and also met with about 40 Pastors who had gathered in a town of Eldoret to hear bible teaching.

Daniel is a musician and he gave the people great enjoyment with his spiritual songs on ukulele and on saxophone - instruments that they had never even seen before!

Kenya like other African countries has been greatly evangelised and there are churches everywhere of all denominations. This is good compared to our Western experience where churches are closing all over the place!
However, there is a great lack of bible teaching, and the Pastors who are expected to lead their churches often do not even have a bible.

In the time we had at the places we visited, we showed power point presentations on the Kingdom of God being on earth when Jesus comes, the nature of the devil, church leadership, and the power of prayer.

The teaching on the Kingdom of God and the lie about the immortal soul was very well received, and 1 Pastor was amazed saying: "Why have we been taught that we go to heaven when we die when it is so clear that we rule on earth?"
The 40 Pastors we taught were so excited about this new truth, they asked for the notes right away and we shall send them books on the subject.

One Pastor emailed and put it this way: "Our people are dying hungry for the word of God but cannot have a bible to read when they are so hungry."
That believers have a bible to read God's word and have the ability to check our teaching and other teaching for its accuracy, is dear to my heart; and we do what we can to fund the provision of bibles to as many as possible - often in their native language.
In all, God gave us the opportunity to teach around 200 people the truth of the coming kingdom. This is the fundamental truth of the gospel - Jesus and the apostles taught the "gospel of the Kingdom"; and it lays the foundation for all other understanding of God's word and promises.

Please pray for the further work of the truth in Kenya, and that as many as possible will be faithful to the truth and teach others - 2 Tim 2 v 2.

Despite the essential severity of some of the Master’s rebukes, they were still given with a completely sympathetic approach consistent with his knowledge of the weakness of the vessels he was dealing with. “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you...
