We've all heard about the basic psychology test of showing someone a cup half filled with liquid. The question is: is the cup half full or half empty? The pessimist will comment that it is half empty, the optimist that it is half full.

As christians, we are to be even more than positive and optimistic. The fruit of the spirit listed in Gal 5 does not contain any negative attitudes - they are all good, and healthy and uplifting fruit to have.

Let's consider our position as the children of God:

He has forgiven our sins and set us free from death
He has called us his children
We have an eternal inheritance to look forward to
He loves us and his mercies are new every morning
All things work together for good
Nothing can separate us from his love

Our attitude should be to the half filled cup of drink: "The cup is half full and I really enjoyed the other half!"
We must rebuke the negative flesh within us and  "LET" the mind of Christ be in us (Phil 2).
We must be kind and gentle to others and seek to enrich them - just as our Father has done to us.

Psa 18:35  You have also given me the shield of Your salvation; and Your right hand has held me up, and Your gentleness has made me great.
